August 2024 Message From Your Board

            August is here, and in full swing.  The kiddos are “Back to School” and we are nearing the end of Summertime.  It’s still filled with hot days, but the days are getting shorter and shorter.  We are transitioning into Fall, and for those of you who love Pumpkin, this is YOUR time!! 

            As we shared in your July Message, Your North Prairie Regional Water Board of Directors will be facilitating monthly messages to all of you, to keep you in the “loop” with ongoing issues and developments regarding your NPRWD water.

            At our August 20^th Meeting, the Board of Directors presented and passed a motion to follow Guidelines and Rules for Member Participation.  You can show up and voice your opinions regarding our Agenda items.  You are still invited to call into the NPRWD Office and request to be placed on The Meeting Agenda. 

Our Office has been researching different options for our website, in our efforts to deliver a better navigated website, but one that is still not so costly.  Teresa and Karla, after much research, choose a template that many Water Districts and Water Municipalities are utilizing today.  It will give us more space on our website and will help us more easily display the information you are looking for.  The cost is $ 100.00 per month.  We hoping to have this new site up and running by the middle of September.  No small feat, with as small as our office staff currently is. 

Today our Secretary Tara Shannon resigned.  Her husband accepted a new position in a different state.  They are in the process of getting re-established.  Tara was a positive addition for NPRWD.  She always approached issues and challenges, in a positive and problem-solving manner.  Thank you, Tara, for your service.  You will be missed! 

Matthew Zelinski was appointed by the Board of Directors to replace Tara Shannon.  Matt has served in the Military for 20 years, oversaw 180 personnel, and he owned and operated his own successful business for many years.  He is active in his community and volunteers for numerous organizations.  He was previously on the Board of Directors for NPRWD and had a lot of support from our members. He is not only very knowledgeable about NPRWD but also very pro rural water.  Welcome Matt.  We are happy to have you back!!

Reminder:  Our Monthly Board Meetings are being audio recorded and have now been uploaded to The NPRWD website.  An additional way we are being transparent and sharing information with all of you.  You can and should fact-check what is being said at our meetings, against what you “hear” from someone.            

We appreciate all of you, our members, and please know your Board of Director’s goal is to move North Prairie Regional Water District forward in a positive manner.  But we need your help, input, and support.  Our goal and mission remains to deliver clean, affordable potable water to you – our Members.  Enjoy the remainder of your August!
