July 2024 Message From Your Board

Happy Summer Everyone!  July is filled with hot days, family vacations, picnics, and The State Fair rides.  Your North Prairie Regional Water District Board of Directors will be facilitating monthly messages to all of you, to keep you in the “loop” with ongoing issues and developments regarding your NPRWD water.

            We welcome new Director Mike Rudnick to our Board.  Mike brings years of experience with being on the Anamoose City Council, the Anamoose Mayor, and as an Anamoose Business Owner.  He and his wife raised their family and have been long standing residents of Anamoose, ND.  Welcome Mike!

            At the same time, we say Thank You to Lori Flaten.  She served on the NPRWD Board of Directors for 6 years.  Lori brought her business experience with customers, and her dedication to NPRWD in a positive manner.  She was proactive in bringing customer’s issues forward, so their issues were heard and addressed.  Lori – we hope you continue to be a part of NPRWD and visit us often!  Thank you! 

            The North Prairie Regional Water District Board of Directors is continuing to learn, listen and truly hear what all our Members concerns are.  We have always had an Open Door Policy., and this hasn’t changed.  Our past process was to call into the office and ask to be added to the Monthly Meeting Agenda.  To make the process easier and to make the Board more accessible to all of you, we have added a 15 -20-minute open comment segment at the beginning of our monthly meetings, on a trial basis.  If our Members find this format easier for them, we will entertain this at our future Monthly Meetings.

This is our personal invite to all of you to attend the Monthly Board Meetings and share your opinions regarding your North Prairie water with your Board of Directors.  We are asking that ALL Members get involved and learn more about NPRWD.  We need input from ALL of you.  Your Board of Directors are problem solvers and when we work cohesively, many positives can be achieved. 

Members have given feedback on the flow of the NPRWD website. The North Prairie office is working with our website provider for options available to help with these concerns. Director Hendrickson has volunteered to review the website and provide feedback. Everything comes at a price, and right now our website costs $639 annually. (This is not calculating the time we pay NPRWD employees to add information and updates to the website.) It may be more cost effective to educate our Members better, on where to find the information.

Audio recordings of our Monthly Board Meetings will be coming to the NPRWD website soon.  This is an additional way we are being transparent and sharing information with all of you.  You can and should fact-check what is being said at our meetings, against what you “hear”. 

If you want a copy of the NPRWD’s monthly or annual financials, please go to our website nprwd.com or call or email the NPRWD office and they will email them to you or make you a hard copy.  Just tell them your preference, and they will make it happen for you. 

We appreciate all of you, our members, and please know your Board of Director’s goal is to move North Prairie Regional Water District forward in a positive manner.  But we need your help, input, and support.  Our goal and mission remains to deliver clean, affordable potable water to you – our Members.  Enjoy your July!
